To know what to do if you chose the wrong university…read on this article…!

Introduction

It’s an undeniable fact that we are a compendium of decisions. The decisions we make every single day are the things that define and make us who we are. There’s no premise for making the right decisions, and no one who in the right senses will purposely make wrong decisions. When we make wrong choices, it will be disastrous to make good choices with the same thought process we were when we made the wrong choice.

The wrong decisions we make might not be wrong in a particular perspective, but our judgment that we have made the wrong decisions will obfuscate our reasoning. And we will not realize that the choice could be a response needed to make some adjustments in attitude and get a positive outcome for the wrong decisions.

Insufficient information might make you think you have chose the wrong university. For instance, a fisher might think he has made the wrong decision by visiting water that appears to be shallow on the surface but when he eventually inserts the fishing night and capture a lot of fish it will become obvious that he never made wrong decisions but his ignorance of the river’s contents.

It’s difficult to make a U-turn when you have been admitted into a university. You will feel bad that the institution didn’t meet up your expectations. However, the most effective way to handle this situation is to use the power of reason to fight your negative emotions, which are associated with making wrong decisions. You assume a fresh new attitude and look for the good side of the university. By accepting to demand more from yourself and never depend on what the university has to offer as regards learning. But in extreme situations where it’s a matter of life and death and it has become so unbearable to put up with then there’s no other option than to discontinue and withdraw from the university.

What to do if you Chose the Wrong University?

Reasons Why Students Chose the Wrong University.

1. Faulty Assumption;

The aftermath of making a wrong assumption is a disappointment. It’s heartbreaking when the university people rated so high is a substandard institution. The major cause of this reason is the media. When the media got the wrong information about the university, they fed the public with erroneous facts.

In a survey, it was found that most students ended up in a particular university because of Media influence. Sometimes, the students won’t have the opportunity to visit the place to verify or inquire from someone who is already in the university. And they can’t help but stay and endure whatever that the university has in store for them.

2. Influence of Friends;

Deep down in the minds of certain students, the major reason why they chose the wrong university, more than anything else, is because of their friends. We are mostly influenced by the choices of our friends because no one matters more to us than them in our early age of development. A student might like to study in an institution but as long as their friends aren’t in that university, the student’s choice will be compromised. And it turns out to be a wrong choice when the student doesn’t have the mental capacity to grind through the learning process of the university.

3. Wrong Timing;

The fact is that as we grow old, our choices tend to change alongside our growth. What was very nice at the age of 18 years might no longer be interesting at the age of 23 years. Age has some level of contribution to the wrong choices we make. A teenager will be inspired to study medicine in a certain university maybe because of the attached fame but then when they reach a certain age, they could start considering changing to another University where they could get a good career path.

4. Parental influence;

Some parents don’t care to know whether or not the university has what it takes to breed a student. The parent might be aware somehow of the University’s way of learning but the fact that parental choices are regarded to be sacrosanct, the student will end up in the wrong university.

There was a student who complained bitterly that the reason for her poor academic performance was because her parents compelled her to attend the university.

What to do if you chose the wrong university;

1. Accept your Choice;

When you make the wrong decisions, the best possible way is to accept them and move on with life believing that something good will come out in the nearest future. There’s always something to enjoy in every university. Use it as a reason to stay there.

2. Focus on Learning;

The truth is that it will be somehow difficult to concentrate whenever you recall the wrong choice you made. However, to handle this emotional state, you have to take it upon yourself to learn and improve in the University and not rely on what the university is offering. Hopefully, with time, you will tend to adapt effortlessly to the School.

3. Practice Gratitude;

One of the ways of staying positive and hopeful is the attitude of gratitude. When you start thinking about how privileged you are to be in that university where many people are not able to be admitted, you will start feeling better about the university.

4. Withdraw from the University;

It’s not the best way but it’s one of the ways to handle the wrong choice you made. When you’re in an extreme condition that concerns life and death or when you can’t endure the emotional stress associated with regret, you quietly withdraw from the university.

Conclusion;

When it comes to choosing to go to University, it’s always difficult to make the right choice. People on the outside might be praising the university as the best. It could be the past glory they are still celebrating. Not knowing that things have completely changed for the worse. The only person within the four walls of the university will disclose the real status quo of the institution.
