As mentioned earlier the meet and the classroom are linked to each other. The Google classroom serves as a virtual classroom. One of the greatest advantages of Google Classroom is Google Docs; these documents are shared with an infinite number of people, so when we create an announcement or assignment using a Google doc, participants of the class can access it immediately through their Google Drive. It provides recovery and auto-saves options which reduces the risk of data loss and data redundancy.
We just need to create a document and share it with as many students as we want. Apart from being available on Chrome which makes it accessible to computers, mobile phones, and tablets, it allows us to add as many students as we want. We can create Google documents to manage assignments and announcements, post-YouTube videos, add links, or attach files from Google Drive.
Some Disadvantages Of Google Classroom
Although the app’s overall interface is easy and smooth, it is not as straightforward as it should be. Most of us find it easy to handle and operate, but it does not provide video solutions. A 5 or 6 old year child is not expected to use a google account smoothly and efficiently. The application itself restricts an age limit.
On the other hand, students who are smart enough to use Google accounts easily often restrict their access to hide their progress from their parents. Once we become familiar with the application, we can exploit it as per our will, and it is what most students do. Another serious issue with the Google classroom app is regularly updating the app.
An update is not a bad thing, but updates are monotonous, and often just for adding an extra theme, we need to update our app. Also, sometimes updates are incompatible with our devices, and the older version lags due to these updates. Further, it has some editing problems when we create assignments and assign them to the students, they become editable, and thus students edit those assignments and delete their parts.
