About Knox College
Knox college is a liberal arts college founded in 1837 and located in Galesburg, Illinois. Knox College has over 40 academic & residential buildings on its 82 acres (330,000 square meters) campus.
They have a 70.8% acceptance rate & 1,258 students were enrolled at Knox College in September 2019 (according to data collected in 2020 and 2019, respectively).
Knox College has over 60 courses available to students. They also have over 120 trained professors (95% of whom have a Ph. D or an equal degree) who are always ready to bestow their theoretical and practical knowledge to students who are eager to learn.
With Knox College’s tuition fees at $51,576 ($60,144 in 2019–2020), the college has a reputation for its top-notch research facilities & standard research equipment and the Seymour Library.

Courses Offered
With five new minors in astronomy, design, arts administration, health studies, and statistics, Knox College currently offers over 60 courses to study, including 42 majors and 57 minors for arts, humanities, sciences, and sociologies. They additionally have nine pre-professional and cooperative programs, including engineering, law, and business.
Knox College also offers its science students the option to undertake a science degree (B.Sc.) in mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, neuroscience, environmental science, computer science, biochemistry, and psychology. These courses are great options for undergraduates who are thinking about a professional career or want to attend graduate school in science.
Requirements for admission into Knox College
Knox College prioritizes the applicant above anything else. They are open to high school students who are active, eager to learn, and value academics a lot, both in academic and non-academic activities (outside the classroom). The admission board also considers the students individually before making decisions on the admission of the applicants.
At Knox College, the application process is unchanged. Applicants are required to complete their application online using
- The Common Application,
- The Coalition Application, or
- The Knox College Application.
All of which have zero application fees attached. The minimum GPA requirements at Knox College for admission of Applicants is a GPA of 3.61(which translates to being above average in your high school and mainly having A’s coupled with B’s.
Four categories of applicants are considered, each of which has its distinct requirements needed for admission. These are:
- First-Year Applicants: These are students who are currently high-school seniors, undocumented immigrants residing in the United States, or students who haven’t completed a full-time college semester coursework. These students are required to provide the following documents;
- Secondary School Report and Transcript issued by the school counselor
- Teachers’ Evaluation/Recommendation
- Mid-Year report of the students’ Fall grades
Also, although optional, an interview with the admission counselor is advised. Other optional requirements are ACT or SAT Scores, Auditions, and Portfolios in the Arts.
- Home-Schooled Applicants: These are students who completed, or are completing, their high school education remotely via Home-schooling. These students are required to provide the following documents;
- Secondary School Report and Transcript issued by the school counselor (a parent can be listed as a school counselor here)
- Teachers’ Evaluation/Recommendation (Parent or course instructor)
- Interview with the Admission Counselor
- ACT or SAT Scores
Although optional, Auditions and Portfolios in the Arts can be provided (if available).
- International Students: These are students who are neither citizens nor permanent residents of the United States and require a visa to study in the United States. These students are required to provide the following documents;
- Secondary School Report and Transcript issued by the school counselor
- Transcripts of college or university attended before application.
- Teachers’ Evaluation/Recommendation
- Proof of English Proficiency, e.g., a minimum score of 80 in TOEFL(Test of English as a Foreign Language), 6.5 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System), 105 in Duolingo English Test (DET), or 1200 in Global Test of English Communication (GTEC).
- GCE, IGCSE, or Other National Exam Results
Also, although optional, an interview with the admission counselors is advised (virtual interviews can be done). Other optional requirements are ACT or SAT Scores, Auditions, and Portfolios in the Arts. Students can also apply for financial aid alongside the admission application.
- Transfer Students – These are students who have graduated from high school and have completed ct least full-time college semester coursework. These students are required to provide the following documents;
- Secondary School Report and Transcript issued by the school counselor
- Transcripts of college or university attended before application.
- College Instructor Evaluation/Recommendation
- Transfer College Report
