This is no doubt a testament to their great accomplishments as a school.

 In 2021, the university’s chancellor, Gene Block, stated that the University of California encourages diversity and excellence in many areas. “This is a place where students of all backgrounds can thrive, and we encourage excellent teaching where we set students up for success after graduation.” With this declaration, it is clear the amount of academic effort, and determination the students are exposed to paves the way for them after graduation.

 What is UCLA like for students?

Well, for its standard, the University of California certainly hits the mark. For a couple of years, UCLA has consistently beaten the record for the most-applied-to-school. It is no news that many people who were products of this prestigious institution have boasted about its academic excellence and everything related. There is a list of amenities offered by the university, some of which are listed below;

 Health services

This involves primary care, immunizations, lab services, nutrition, physical therapy, radiology, and a host of other health care facilities essential for a college student. UCLA health care is an extensive one that covers almost every area of health services you might need as a student.

 Student patrols

The UCLA campus has been described as a safe place for both teachers and professors. As a public university, it is also not restricted to non-students who are looking to tour or get more information about the campus.

24-hour emergency calls

The University of California has stated that its emergency lines are “always” open. Therefore, you have nothing to worry about when it comes to her efficiency and having her best interests at heart for her students.

Powered pathways and sidewalks

Whether you are walking to the library late at night or you have an assignment to get back to, there is almost no need to worry about being in the dark. This is because the pathways and sidewalks of the university are fully lighted up, making it easier for students to have access to their dorms irrespective of the time.

 24 hours vehicle patrols and foot patrols

To make the campus a safer place, vehicle patrols and foot patrols are common. This goes on all day to ensure a safer and more peaceful environment on campus.

 Physical and mental health services, free legal services, academic counseling, and food security programs.

Aside from all of these, the university has a distinctively beautiful campus alongside the population. It is also home to one of its famous libraries; Royce hall and Powell library. This makes it easier for students to interact with diverse communities and nationalities on campus.

 What is the standard GPA for getting into UCLA?

To get into UCLA, you must have an average of 4.29 GPA, which is on the 4.0 scale. This can be accrued to the acceptance rate, which is a very selective one. Hence, only students with exceptionally high grades can get into UCLA and, in turn, stay. Although, for some transferable courses, you can have a minimum of 3.4 or more. Not only is your GPA essential for getting into the university, but you must also maintain a level of academic prowess to remain a student at UCLA.

Conclusion

 Since UCLA is one of the oldest universities in California, it has become home to many global activities and a root of world-renowned leaders, scholars, athletes, and actors/actresses. There are also a host of others who benefited from its academic excellence in many aspects. In other words, UCLA might not be a top ten school globally right now, but it is certainly on its way to becoming one.
