The requirements for admission into the college vary depending on the course you are selecting. There are several types of admissions; undergraduate admissions, graduate admissions, transfer student admissions, and admissions for continuing education.
The general admission requirements for entering into a graduate program include possessing a BSc degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and a B grade obtained for one of the following subjects; Principles of Accounting II, Economics II, Elementary Statistics, Principles of Finance, Principles of Management, or Principles of Marketing. Admission Requirements for School of Nursing
DNP – Family Nurse Practitioner Specialty Track Program
For the school of Nursing, a candidate must have fulfilled the following criteria to be considered for the admission into the DNP – Family Nurse Practitioner specialty track program; MSc degree from an accredited school of nursing, the GPA must be 3.0 or above (on 4.0 scale), updated resume, official transcripts, a copy of current Massachusetts or Connecticut licensure, three letters of references, statement of purpose, and an interview with the program’s director.
DNP – Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Graduate Certificate program
For the school of nursing, a candidate must have fulfilled the following criteria to be considered for the admission into the DNP – Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Graduate Certificate program; an MSc degree obtained from an accredited school of nursing, the national certification as a nurse practitioner, minimum GPA of 3.0 or above in the graduate work, B grades or better in the graduate-level course in the Advanced Health and Physical Assessment (this has to be within the past 7 years), a scanned copy of the current Massachusetts license as a registered nurse with no restrictions to work, two letters of references addressing the professional competency, at least 2 years of experience in the relevant field, evidence showing the national certifications in advanced practice nursing specialty, explanation of career goals, how this program helps to meet these goals, and the self-accomplishment in this field. The applications should be submitted before the relevant deadline (21st, January every year for the fall intake).
RN-BSN-MSN program
For admission into this program, the candidate must possess a degree from an accredited school of nursing and the credit requirements for this degree include the followings;
- 3 credits in English
- 3 credits in Introduction to Psychology
- 8 credits in Anatomy and Psychology
- 3 credits in Life Span Growth and Development
- 4 credits in Microbiology
- 15 credits in Non-nursing electives
Moreover, the candidate must possess licensure as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts. For the application process, one letter of recommendation, official transcripts from all the programs the candidate had followed, an updated resume, a statement of purpose, and proof of licensure as an RN.
RN-MSN program
For admission into this program, it is required to possess an Associate degree in Nursing or a diploma in Nursing and a BSc degree from a professionally accredited institution. Also, the candidates must be eligible for the licensure as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
When applying to this program, it requires two letters of recommendation, official transcripts from previous studies, completing a 3-credit statistics course with C+ grade, an updated resume, a statement of purpose, and proof of licensure as an RN. Further, all the applicants must take part in an interview.
MSN or Certificate
For admission into this program, the candidate must possess a BSc degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of 3.0 GPA on the 4.0 GPA scale during the undergraduate studies. Also, it requires the completion of 6 credits at the level of graduation along with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
For application process, it requires two letters of recommendation, official transcripts from previous studies, and the completion of a 3 credit statistical course with a minimum of C+ grade, an updated resume, a statement of purpose, and proof of licensure as an RN.
DNP – Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program
For admission into this program, the candidate must possess an MSc degree from an accredited school of nursing with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale, a complete DNP Application, an updated resume, official transcripts from all the previous studies, a copy of the Massachusetts or Connecticut licensure as a registered nurse without restrictions, three letters of reference, statement of purpose and an interview with the Program director. Moreover, the applications should be sent before the application deadline (21st, January each year for the fall intake).
DNP – Health Systems Innovation and Leadership program
For admission into this program, the candidate must have obtained an MSc degree for Nursing with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 GPA scale, a professional portfolio with an updated resume, official transcripts from all previous studies, a copy of the Massachusetts or Connecticut licensure as a Registered Nurse, three letters of recommendations, statement of purpose, and an interview with the Program Director.
