Loyola Marymount University is a Jesuit university. That means it was founded by the members of the Society of Jesus. This was a Roman Catholic order of priests. It was founded by Saint Ignatius Loyola and Saint Francis Xavier in 1534. Both of them were supported by their other comrades. Loyola College and Marymount University were two separate entities.
