The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) is a Public University. This University is run by Public Funds through the State Government. The University of Wisconsin System is a system of Universities that are run by Public Funds. It is situated in the U.S. State of Wisconsin. It is one of the largest Public Higher Education Systems that govern the UWSP. UWSP grants degrees of associate, bachelor’s, and masters. UWSP has combined UWSP at Wausau and UWSP at Marshfield. With inspiring faculty, research opportunities, and dynamic programs, the students can get all of these facilities here.      UWSP has got a large number of students enrolled. By 2020-21 the University has 8,302 students who got admitted. This huge number of students can be divided into different divisions based on a few subjects.

Population of Students

There are 8,302 students. Among them 7,698 students are Undergraduate and 604 students are graduates. This data is applicable for the year 2020-21.

# GENDER:

According to the distribution of Gender, out of 8,302 students, 3,536 students (42.59%) are male and 4,766 students (57.41%) are female. In Undergraduate school 3,382 students are male and 4,316 students are female. Whereas in Graduate school 154 students are male and 450 students are Female.

# Full time VS Part-timer:

The University has 6435 students attending full time, whereas 1263 students are attending on a part-time basis. In Undergraduate school, 6435 students are attending full-time classes and 1,263 students are attending part-time classes. In Graduate school, only 181 students are attending full time and 423 are attending part-time classes. 

# Distance learning:

At UWSP 2416 students have enrolled only for the online courses. The rest of the 5,398 students have enrolled on other online courses. In the Graduate schools, only 533 students are attending some courses online. Whereas in Undergraduate schools, 7,281 students are attending at least one online course.

# Race distribution:

In this particular section, the student population is distributed by race at UWSP. Among them 39 students are Native American, 7,108 students are White, 180 students are Black/African American, 361 students are Hispanic, 280 students are Asian, and 127 students are of other races.

# Distribution through age:

Among this total number of students, the number of Undergraduate students below 18 is 348. Several students within age (18-19) are 2882 at Undergraduate level, within age (20-21) the undergraduate students are 2586 and Graduate students are 13, within age (22-24) the Undergraduate students are 1206 and graduate students are 160, within age (25-29) the Undergraduate students are 357 and graduate students are 163. The rest of the students are between (the 30-40) age group.

Academic Structure

# More than 100 program options are available at UWSP. Out of the 80 programs are Bachelor’s degree programs, 17 Graduate programs and 90 Minor programs are available in the Fine arts and Communication center. Apart from the College of Letters and Sciences, professional studies and natural resources are also available on the UWSP campus.

# Span of the programs is five years where the Undergraduate and Graduate programs are blended. At Marshfield and Wausau campuses these options are available. Credit-Noncredit courses and online-offline courses are available.

# Total enrollment at Stevens Point, Marshfield, and Wausau campuses includes 8135 by 2021. The average first-year ACT score is 22, the student-teacher ratio is 19:1.

Student Activity

1 out of 3 students works on campus actively. By 2018-19 more than 2000 students worked and earned from the campus. Students are involved in activities like swimming, climbing walls, and Exercise classes. The Student organizations are actively involved in academics, Fine arts, and social causes. Many candidates got registered for swimming programs, basketball, volleyball and many other activities.

# According to the US. NEWS AND WORLD REPORTS UWSP is ranked 14th among the regional public Universities. The University is recognized for its low student to faculty ratio and its good reputation among the other regional universities.

#UWSP is the only university that has got its Fine arts section (music, art, dance, theater) accredited nationally.

# It is the only University that gets its electricity from different sources.

# UWSP has got a reputation as a Military friendly school for consecutive 10 years.

#Women’s wrestling is only offered here as a sport.

Campus Description

UWSP campus was founded in 1894. The campus includes a recently decorated Chemistry Biology building, a residential hall, a living-learning building, and student centers. The campus is located on 406 acres of land, a 280-acre reserve forest, and a lake. It is located at the intersection of Interstate Highway 51 and Highway 10 between Milwaukee and Minneapolis. The Field stations are-Northern aqua-cultural Demonstration facility at Bayfield, the tree haven near Tomahawk, and the Central Wisconsin Environmental station.  

Other Characterstics

# The University campus is filled with great restaurants, ice cream shops, cheese factories etc.

# It offers an opportunity to work while remaining close to home. Students living at Stevens Point, Marshfield or Wausau have a great scope to study close to their homes. They can work, and attend classes by finding time to spend with friends. Out of the student population, only 13% of students are international students.

# UWSP has a team offering help to find the major. They are always guiding the students to choose the right paths in their careers.

# 88% of students from the first year receive financial aid. UWSP provides scholarship opportunities to the students.

# Small class sizes help students to get personalized attention from the faculty members. Research opportunities are provided to Undergraduate students unlike in other Universities.

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (USWP) has a huge number of students enrolled every year. Most of the students belong to the Wisconsin area. This University is providing great opportunities for the local students.
