As a Cadet at UNG, you will learn high leadership development and educational training. There are several leadership processes you should expect on your journey through college.

1. First Year

Your training will oscillate between peer leadership, followership, and personal development in your first year. To help you focus on your studies, you will have a minimal oversight posting as a Cadet private in the Corps of Cadets. To be successful at UNG, you must build a robust educational foundation during your first year. 

2. Sophomore Year

You will be in charge of a compact group of cadets. You will be entirely responsible for your unit or team’s academic success, well-being, development, and physical fitness. New cadets need your mastery, knowledge, and professionalism for direction through their first year.

3. Junior Year

The focus at this stage is on middle-management-level leadership education. Your Job will be to mentor first- and second-year students on the number-one military skills and leadership. Juniors in some key leadership positions receive a free room and a monthly allowance of $600.

4. Senior Year

Here you become an upper-level leader in the Corps of Cadets. As a senior, one will command a platoon of 30 cadets, companies of 75 Cadets, a brigade of 800+ cadets, or a battalion of 250 Cadets. Seniors organize all the affairs for the corps of cadets and make sure UNG carry on with the finest ROTC training in the U.S. Seniors in some key leadership positions get a free room and a monthly allowance of $600.

5. Your Summers

During summer, Cadets can compete for opportunities in Army training. 

Applying to UNG Corps of Cadet

High School Graduating Senior

You need to know if you are coming in as a graduate from an accredited high school or home school program, or maybe you have graduated for less than five years and have not attended college after graduation.

1. How to Apply to UNG

i. The Application starts online, and you will pay a non-refundable fee.

ii. Request an official transcript from your counselor or submit it through your GAFutures Application.

iii. Send your SAT or ACT score from the College Board to UNG. 

iv. Submit verification of lawful presence.

v. Finally, check your application status to confirm if UNG received all your documents.

2. Requirements for Cadet Application

i. you will have to be 17 years or older before the start of Cadet intrinsic training

ii. Must graduate from an accredited high school.

iii. Have a pellucid demeanor and disciplinary record.

3. Minimum GPA 

It would be best if you had a minimum GPA of 2.5 to get into the Corp of Cadets.

If you completed a dual enrollment at another university, you would need a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on all college dual enrollment coursework.

4. If you completed high school outside the United States, you must meet the English proficiency requirements.

Transfer Students Application

If you attended college after graduation or were formally enrolled at UNG; and attended another college when you were absent from UNG. You can apply as a transfer student if:

i. You have less than 30 transferable college credits (excluding technical level courses), and you have graduated high school for not more than five years. The new Cadet’s first-year admission requirement is also essential.

ii. Students who complete secondary school outside the U.S. must meet English Proficiency requirements.

iii. Boast of overt conduct, disciplinary, and background record.

iv. If quondam suspended you previously, the college will not give you admission until you have served the suspension period and returned to the former institute. 

v. A competitive applicant should have an overall GPA of 2.5.

III. Submit your Lawful Presence Document.
