The signature building of the university is the Rotunda which dates back to the the1880s and after the fire took place in 2001, a rebuild was made. 

Currently, an active capital project worth $150 million is in several planning and development stages, this includes a new academic building, a new campus center that will become a new arena for students’ success, and a central theme of students’ life. Longwood’s commitment to the environment underscores that the university has been using biomass (sawdust) to generate steam to provide heat and hot water for the campus for 30 years. His mother, Carrie Renee, his two sisters, his grandmother, Marie Eason Reveley graduated from Longwood University; and his great-grandfather, Dr. Thomas D. Eason, led our biology department in the early 20th century. President Reveley’s father, W. Taylor Reveley III, was President of the College of William and Mary, and his grandfather, W. Taylor Reveley II, was President of Hampden-Sydney from 1963 to 1977.

A graduate of Princeton University, Union Presbyterian Seminary, and University of Virginia Law School, President Revley practiced law with Hunton and Williams and later served as coordinating adviser to the National Military Commission, co-chair, and co-chair. 

Shortly before taking over Longwood, he was executive director of the Miller Center at the University of Virginia, a nonpartisan institution focused on the US presidency, politics, and political history. He and his wife Marlo are the parents of twins May and Quint.
