Lets’ start reading How Do You Motivate And Motivate Students?

How Do You Motivate And Motivate Students?

Learning how to motivate and motivate students is a prerequisite to managing people and getting the best out of students. The simple truth is that most people find it hard to get up and get things done unless there’s something to be gained or there’s something they’re afraid to lose. It’s one thing to be motivated and it’s another thing to stay motivated constantly. It requires some discipline to keep the mind pumped all day long.

Motivation and Discipline

•Discipline won’t come without exercising some level of motivation for a long time. It’s the consistent motivation that will keep you positive all day long and then, naturally, the discipline will flow. And the fact that you’re disciplined in reading books doesn’t completely transform you into a disciplined athlete. You have to be surrounded by motivational materials to stay put.

•Why is it that great bodybuilders like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Scholars, and most importantly great men in different endeavors tend to paste pictures of their idols on the wall, listen to their speeches, and read their books now and then?

•They need something to be pushing them often and on until they can stay focused, so motivation needs to be sought and be made constantly strong. Discipline, therefore, is a derivative of motivation.

How to motivate and motivate students.

1. Creating a mental picture.

I have never seen an architect without a building plan, nor have I seen a sailor without a compass.

To motivate students, you have to tell the person to write down the scores or grades he or she tends to get at the end of the term, then commit the goals to memory. Recite the goals to a point to which they don’t think of anything else apart from the goals. The person’s mind will look for every means to get the grades. I recall vividly when I enrolled in the University, the above principle was applied after I had failed for four years but then I got a very high score which gave me admission into the University.

2. Learn to like Your instructor.

The moment you hate your tutor, invariably you will hate the subject. The thought of hatred makes you think that there’s nothing to gain from that subject. Even if the tutor is not performing at his best, hating him will certainly demotivate you from learning the subject. I had this experience when I was in junior high school. I detested my English language Teacher, and because of that, I struggled with the subject. At the end of every term, I will pass all other subjects but I will fail the English language repeatedly until my senior high school when I got a different charismatic teacher who would inspire me to like her subject. So to stay pumped as a student, never hate your tutor. You might not necessarily need to like the person but just accept and tolerate the person.

3. Help your fellow students.

If you desire to learn twice then you have to teach others. When I was in high school, I discovered that whenever someone asks me to explain a concept, I will never forget the topic after explaining the concept to the person. So the desire to continue remembering whatever I read motivated me to start a science club where I will study a topic and then share it with my fellow students. So if you feel motivated to comprehend faster and retain concepts for long then share them with your fellow students.

4. Discover friends

One of the greatest things to do as a student is to discover friends. Don’t make friends, discover friends. I get along with friends who are self-motivated that’s why I became self-motivated. When I saw my friend reading her books I would immediately start reading. I kept on imitating the girl until I started taking the same first position she used to take. Motivated friends will force you to level up.

Conclusion

Summarily, self-motivation is the highest form of motivation. It’s you vs you. And then be in an environment that will constantly remind you why you need to be pumped. The moment you identify the “WHY” behind your actions it will help you to stay motivated.
