What Makes a College an Ivy League?

Several factors distinguish a college from an Ivy League.

  • History and Tradition: The Ivy League colleges are engraved on their walls with a history dating back to the sixties and nineties with ranges of the colonial era which provide them the prestige they have. Other colleges cannot compete with them or with their outstanding history.
  • Academic Excellence: The faculty at any ivy league college is top-notch with research centers and seminar halls. The impoundment of generosity in these programs sets these colleges at par with the others.
  • Selectivity: It is very difficult to get into an ivy league because the selection process is very strict and composite. The ivy league colleges only accept a lower percentage of students each year.
  • Athletic Programs: Being an athletic conference, the ivy league colleges are very at par in such regards to other universities. Other colleges are not regarded as much in power as the ivy league universities are.
  • Endowment: The Ivy League schools have some of the largest endowments in the world, which helps to fund their academic and research programs, as well as their financial aid initiatives.

Overall, what makes a college an Ivy League school is a combination of factors, including its history, selectivity, endowment, academic excellence, and athletic prowess. These institutions have a long-standing reputation for providing their students with an exceptional education and a pathway to success in their chosen careers.
