Assumption college currently renamed as Assumption University, established on 1st October 1904, holds a vast history and celebrated its 100th year in 2004.
It is a privately owned university situated in one of the original New England States, that is Massachusetts; this state holds a very historical secrets and is known for the state where first subway systems where built. Let us find out where is Assumption College.
History
This college was founded in 1904, by the Augustinians of the Assumption, they were a catholic group which service through teaching and were thought to be reflectors of the god. The campus when built was situated in Greendale section of Worcester. In the early days of this university the admissions were given to men only. It was year 1969 when this university saw a transition where only male college became coeducational institution, and in the year 1969 the first batch of girls were seen in assumption campus.
The college has also been relocated, in June 1953 a tornado strike at Massachusetts and it became the cause of destruction in central and western part of Massachusetts, it also severely damaged the assumption campus, then it was decided by the administration to relocate college at different location, Salisbury street, in the west of the city and it was officially opened in 1956. The old campus of assumption university is now Quinsigamond Community College.
The assumption university has seen tremendous growth in its institution and in the field of academics and facilities under the presidency of Dr. Francesco C. Cesareo, he is the 15th president of this university and he is still serving this institution as its president, and apart from the growth in academics and facilities in the Massachusetts, he has also added a international campus in assumption university the new campus is situated in the heart of Italy, Rome.

The university has added many academic fields in its long career and in the year 2022 it is offering 5 different fields and specializations in its campus. The five different schools of assumption university are:

- Froelich school of nursing
- School of health professions
- School of graduate studies

Athletics

There’s a famous saying “Healthy Body Posses Healthy Mind” and for healthy body being fit is the most important thing and as a student and with my own experiences I can state that the best way is athletics or games, and in Assumption university students are offered a large choice of games they want to play.

Baseball, cross country, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, basketball, soccer, track and field and tennis.
For women’s:
Basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, rowing, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis and volleyball.
Athletic facilities
The Massachusetts campus has a multi-sports stadium. This stadium was opened in the year 2005 and in building this multi sport stadium it cost around $3.2million. It has every facilities and fields for its students apart from this, it has 1200 guests sitting capacity with a press box and a president box.
Assumption university teams participate as a member of the national collegiate athletic association’s division II. And apart from this assumption university also holds trophies for 2015 and 2017 Northeast 10 Football Championship.
Campus
The Assumption college campus is home to some beautiful flowers and high trees in its 185 acres and its surrounded by blue hills, and on the campus in warmer months of the year, the campus is home to some ducks that lives in the pond situated at the starting of the campus. The campus has parks and sitting areas across whole campus. The college has Desautels and alumni halls are the double style halls that are situated in the heart of the campus.
Hostel Facility
The college campus has Worcester and Salisbury Halls, as the first year hostels they are composed of three beds rooms and with some single bed rooms which are home to first year students, and after first year students need to relocate to different hostel that is nault hall that is composed with three and four bed rooms which are for students after first year.
The hostel has a kitchen, multi bathroom and some rooms also have attached bathroom.
Learning centers
The campus has library, student area and also halls which are built for students to study and spend their free time on campus in these halls, these halls also has cafeteria attached to them for refreshments of students.
Apart from these things campus also has halls which are built for students to practice their play or for their upcoming programs as this university hosts a lot of fests and programs for entertainment and learning of students.
