What is considered a good score for the SAT ?
Here we need to be answering it according to the time period.
Back in the 1990’s anything above 1200 was excellent and scores of even 1000 could have earned you around 80-85 percentile marks back in 1984. But with change in time
What can be called a good SAT score has also changed.
Nowadays anything above 1350 would be considered an excellent SAT score and you could easily get above 90 percentile.
A score of about 1200-1210 would make your percentile score 75+.
Anything below that is still considered an average SAT score.
Bill Gates (Microsoft co-founder) scored 1590 out of 1600 back when anything above 1300 was considered a good score. Nowadays many students obtain 1600 out of 1600. 1590 is an excellent score even today but at that time it was outstanding as most of his colleagues were scoring around 1300+.
So, coming to your question, Is 1010 a good SAT score in 2019 ?
If you had obtained the same number of marks back in 1984 it would have been an excellent score. But here, It may sound harsh but 1010 is a par average score and you would be anywhere around 48-50 percentile which definitely won’t give the college of your dreams.
To get anything close to 1200+ in SAT exam you need to prepare Vocabulary part very well along with the Maths and Reasoning part. Many students run out of times sometimes which results in deduction of marks to overcome time block you need to increase your speed which could be only attained when you practice a lot.
You don’t need to lose your heart here. Reread the syllabus and prepare whole heartedly again and give it a second try if you want to improve your SAT score and study in the college you have dreamt of. Here for your convenience we are providing you with the Syllabus of SAT too.
